🌟 Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Support

At Little Treasures Day Nursery we are proud to offer a high-quality, inclusive service where the individual needs of every child are recognised and supported.

🤝 Inclusive Practice Aligned with the EYFS

Following the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we are committed to ensuring that every child makes good progress, including those with identified Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our team is trained to observe and assess each child’s development carefully, and we use tools such as the Key Person system and the Two-Year Progress Check to identify any children who may benefit from additional support with their learning and development.

👩‍🏫 Experienced and Dedicated SENCo Team

We have qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCo) who:

  • Support staff in recognising and responding to children’s individual needs

  • Work closely with parents to ensure open and respectful communication

  • Liaise with external professionals when further input or assessments are needed

  • Develop tailored  Individual Support Plans (ISPs) based on each child’s unique needs and level of support

💛 A Welcoming Setting for All

We warmly welcome children who already have an identified SEND or require additional help. From your child’s very first day with us, our SENCo team will work in partnership with you and external professionals to build a personalised learning journey that supports your child’s development and wellbeing.

💬 “Providers must have arrangements in place to support children with SEN or disabilities. These arrangements should include a clear approach to identifying and responding to SEN.”
— Statutory Framework for the EYFS (Section 3.67)
